Hippo FC is Liberia’s only women’s football club with a conservation mission.
Founded in 2016 in Harbel, Margibi County, we chose the endangered pygmy hippopotamus, Choeropsis liberiensis, as our symbol.
The pygmy hippo is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List and fully protected under Liberia’s Wildlife Conservation Law.
We are the undefeated 2026 Champions of the Margibi County Women Lower League with a 12-0-1season record.
